Which Exhaust to Buy?

Featured Replies

So I'm looking for a new exhaust system for my fabia vrs to replace the stock one and was just after some advice as to what to get, been recommended the Milltek by a friend who used to have a fabia but never had one fitted:

My other choice is the Blueflame exhaust sytem which sounds quite sporty, not really after noise looking more for power at the end of the day but a sporty tone wouldn't go a miss

Personally I lke the look of the blueflame one better as its very similar to the standard one already fitted but just after some advice what do you guys have fitted am I overlooking something a lot better???

yeah looked at that one just doens't look like it fits right under the bumper like the other two do

the blueflame looks to big imo, ive had a jetex before was superb quality emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Or scorpion!!! Mine looks like the blueflame.

For performance alone, why not save some pennies and just make the oem exhaust as free-flowing as possible? This can be achieved purely from a decat pipe (£100 or less) and a backbox removal and replaced with straight pipe (£100 at most) The actual diameter of the stock exhaust is not restrictive.

really? thought the blue flame looked about the same size as the stock one, i know milltek are very well re-knowned and are used on a lot of Audi/VW cars but I don't just want to pay for the name I'd prefer substance.

This is why I have a £60 piece of exhaust pipe just sticking out the side on my fabia. ;) I am all for spending big money where it is useful but for a performance exhaust there isn't necessarily any need to bother.

The Scorpion one looks closest to the standard part in my opinion and it's stainless so it should last well. Unit 18 had a very good discount for Briskoda members last time I checked. I could be very, very, wrong but I'm almost certain the standard exhaust only starts to affect performance somewhere around stage II or stage III of tuning and for most people the standard part is perfectly adequate.

wicked thanks for that wja96 you reckon i should just not bother with the exhaust then? money better spent on a remap and pd160 intake+panel filter???

Sticking out the side..??! just one or twin exits from each side...?? could I see a pic? :giggle:

Hmm, Jason you have got me thinking. The backbox on my car is pretty tired now, would it harm to just remove the box completely, leaving the rest of the exhaust as it is? Would it be too loud?

Definitely - A Shark Performance/P-Torque/JabbaSport remap will make the most of what you have. The PD160 intake is a nice to have and I wouldn't bother with a panel filter either, just change the stock one every 10,000 mile service. The Shark one is probably the pick at the moment and with the STS box you can do it yourself although the P-Torque map does include two rolling road runs, which may be worth something to you.

Been looking at a revo remap purely becuase there well known for doing the Audi/VW's and theres a dealer 5minutes up the road from me, will be ordering parts form seat this week so should have the new intake up and running by week end.

i'd prefer my Jetex over any of those

Got a turbo back (decat) milltek on my vrs and its niiiice B)

pip that looks great did you just get the tailpipe made and have the cat removed what bhp increase are you looking at for decat 10bhp+???

scorpion one looks good at £200 aswell not too pricy going to steer clear of the de-cat route i think had one turbo blow already don't fancy paying for another one lol

It's just a tail pipe welded to the standard exhaust, with a bit of pipe welded insted of the boxes. Not sure on performance as i had it done pre remap or anyother mods. Didn't notice anything, other than it smoked less and sounds mental after 3k B)

When changing gears before full boost you can hear the turbo make funny noises

It ran a 178.3bhp 310lb/ft on the RR with a remap, exhaust and panel filter/pd160 intake.

lol heard the decat causes backdrag on the turbo, they don't like that :(

Hi mate,

I bought the blueflame... Saw it and HAD to have it... B)

It isn't noisy at all, you can hear a difference in tone when

you are really strumming it in 5th and 6th. It sounds lower and more gutsy.

But not loud. Round town you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between that and a standard

pipe, maybe a little more turbo noise but thats it...

It looks to me like it fits the cutout and is supposed to be there but I wouldn't say it looks standard though.

See for yourself.

Looks good that man!

I'm getting a decat soon and keeping the standard backbox for the mo (good to have a little back pressure so the turbo doesn't go BOOM! ;) )
