Rear tyres on Superb II Elegance 170

Featured Replies

I need some help, i bought a Skoda HQ superb 170bhp 2.0 Elegance, with a few extras added. But i have replaced the front tyres with Michelin PS 3. The rear tyres have worn very un even. I have had them tracked and they are with in Manufactures tolllerneces but both tyres outsides have worn approx 2 mm more on outside than on the inside. Does any one know why? Or has anyone got the same problem.

Love the Car btw

Not enough weight in the back, maybe the car is set up for it being loaded up, what pressure are you using, some of the Passat's need 38 psi.

The back is set to 2.5 so dont know the psi on that... So does that mean i need to put more or less in? Thanks for a quick reply...

1 bar = 14.5037738 pounds per square inch

therefore 2.5 bar = 36.259434439 psi

I run my Superb II 2.0 170cr Hatch @ 2.3 usually no rear passengers, only general luggage or shopping and rear tyres wear very evenly.

When I first got my Superb, it was set to the tyre pressures on the fuel flap, which seemed to be appoximately 31 Lbs/ sq inch front and 34 rear. I run it with one or two people in it and very little luggage. The car seemed soft on the front and very hard and bouncy on the rear. After discussing it with the dealer and experimenting a bit, I now run at 32 lbs/sq inch front and rear. The front is a bit more directional and the rear no longer bounces around. If I have to load the boot up, I will experiment with adding a couple of pounds to the rear and compare with my standard setting.
