Rear wipe washer jet.

Featured Replies

I'm a newbie here, hello everyone. Check out my introduction post. For some reason the washer on the rear wiper does not produce any liquid. When I push the stalk towards the dash for the washer jet setting I can hear the motor working but no water is expelled from the rear jet. Front works fine on the front setting. I have recently filled it up with good quality washer fluid and overfilled it slightly, could this be a cause of the problem? My dad suggests the alcohol in the washer fluid may blast it clean, lol. Then he suggested putting a pin down the jet. Sounds a bit brutal. Any suggestions will be much appreciated, thanks everyone.

Have a look on here

Have you noticed any damp patches anywhere in or around the car, I had that problem with a Vauxhall Corsa and it was a split pipe the fluid was coming out of the rear nearside wheel arch having leaked out down the inside of the frame from the roof line.

You could try cleaning the washer jet and the area around the wiper mount. Also make sure the cover over the bottom of the wiper and the jet is fitted correctly that can restrict the jet it came loose on my old Fabia 1.2 HTP and the fluid was just spraying all over the back of the car not the window.

On closer inspection its coming from the front leaking out to the floor, hmm I'm gna try n poke around using the guide. Wish me luck.

Good look. If you're anything like me, it will probably involve a lot of swearing, and a bit of blood for good measure

Hopefully its the bulkhead connection, that ones a 10 second jobby... find the bit sticking out the bulkhead, find the dangling tube, push them back together... go have a beer

The one by the front passenger wheels a bit more involved

Quick thread hijack!

I have a issue with my rear jet too but slightly different, water does come out, but it's hardly a spray, more like a squirt :) could it be the pump being knackered, where is it located, any ideas?

Hmm it could be the hole for the jet is blocked or something. Luckily for me it was the bulkhead connection. I took the airbox off looked around cautiously for half hour til i found it. One click later, tested and it worked. The rear jet was spurting the country's finest jet wash like a pressure washer. Sorted, I'd like to take the time to again thank softscoop and dave hedgehog for all they're help. Now for a beer. Peace out.

nice one peeps i have this prob to and noticed the water coming down on the floor behind the gear box il get the jack out when it stops raining!

No need for the jack, look directly below the engine control unit, the detached pipes will be below this, between the ABS unit and bulkhead.

When the pipes are disconnected under the trim by the rear passenger seat, water can still come out at a reduced rate and delayed from when you press the button. If this is the case you normally end up with the rear passenger side footwell full of screenwash. Once you have the trim off it's a 10 second job to fix.
