warrenty help

Featured Replies

my 4th gear syncro was replaced 6 months ago under warrenty and my gearbox is now making a rough bearing noise on idle, i know that when they took the gear box apart the bearing would of been disturbed or replaced and sadly my warrenty ran out the start of june, obviously this problem may be connected to the previous repair,

i was wondering if anyone knew if they would of supplied a warrenty on the gearbox repair and if so would it still be in place,

many thanks

The shaft bearings are not disturbed when a box is stripped down for a syncro repair. They stay in the box casing. The box is split and the shafts removed and that's it. 4th syncro will still be under warranty, but other parts won't.

The new car warranty is 2 years unlimited mileage from the factory, with a third year upto 60000 miles from the importer. Any repairs carried out under this warranty are warranted until the new car warranty expires. If the car has full dealer service history, you may well be able to get a good will contribution from Skoda for the repair. A dealer will have to submit a request to the importer.
