Expensive parts?

Featured Replies

I opted for a Skoda because I know they're quality and I wanted a polo or v'dub equivelant. However, I am suspicious that because they are pretty solid that the parts maybe on the expensive side. Also say comparing to a crappy corsa or older fiesta. Has anybody found this to be the case or is everything pretty competitive with other european manufactures. The jap's are always cheapest but is it quality? Hmm I wonder.

I don't find VW/Skoda parts to be particularly expensive. I've owned a ford before and to be honest its on par with that. Quality is ok.

Ok awesome, thats reassuring. I'm expectin to need a few sometime soon. As with older cars, things tend to go wrong.

Most things I've bought so far have been reasonable and nothing to complain about :) OTOH if something you ask for a price on does turn out to be more than you'd like to pay you can always check out www.jorily.com and places like eurocarparts.

Try buying parts from Renault, they are Uber expensive. I asked for a price on a Clio Cup lip spoiler £155, ouch. Went to a Skoda dealer and bought one for £11.50 Just had to trim a couple of inches to fit. Now apparantly , Skoda sell more Lip spoilers to Clio owners than for Fabias.

You can always buy OE Skoda parts from Euro Car Parts and GSF at even cheaper prices. Just specify OE when ordering though.

They are not expensive in relation to a lot of other marques

if you want expensive try getting a dashmount cupholder for a Saab 93 SS...

£140+vat

And I though the £40 Skoda one was way OTT :thumbup:

Depends on the part and if an after market equivalent is available. Try buying 4 PD injector units new, not much change out of £2,000

Just had to buy the right angled boost hose from the SMIC...£89!!!!....that is what I call a rip off

i work in parts so i have a pretty good idea of the price of a lot of things

in general, id say Skoda parts are cheap, you get the odd thing which is expensive but then you get that with every manufacturer

id say they are around the Vauxhall/Ford end for prices, cheaper than Renault/Cit/Pug, usual VAG type prices

im very happy owning one when it comes to parts
