Carquake

Featured Replies

Just about to order new car....through Car Quake on the internet. Has anyone else done this? Has it been a good experience? None of our local Skoda dealers can beat them on price.

Cheers

Got a quote and got a call. Superb would be second registered owner, and only after 6 months. First 6 months registered keeper would be carquake.. Very odd. Had the whole spiel to try and get around any of my concerns and phoned me quite a few times after I said I was deliberating. Semi high pressure sales I would say. Not unpleasant, but enough for me to be put off. Eventually ordered through Drivethedeal, which uses a normal dealer, so much safer IMHO.

Ordered mine through carquake earlier in June (delivery due in September) The second registered owner thing is a fairly common way of getting extra discount. Manufacturers give extra discounts to fleet buyers who are not allowed to dispose of the car for 4-6 months after supply. UK car discounts also do this and I think that Autofinders do the same.

For me, £3800 off list - £1300 better than drive the deal or the very best that my local dealer could manage is worth the being the second owner.

How do you go about insuring a car that is not in your name???

If any of you are cabbies, call Cabs Direct for a quote, you can buy cash, you don't have to take their terms, they will simply order it and sell it to you, had some good prices on certain cars a while ago, like £16295 for a new Avensis 1.8 TR CVT in metallic paint, stip is though you must me a cabby to purchase.
