Just removed sidestrips

Featured Replies

Hi all i have just come in to some money recently having sold my motocross so i started thinking of ways to make my car look better my plan was to get wheels refurbed anthracite, get front end painted, get handles painted and sidestrips removed so got home tonight and decided id have a go at taking sidestrips off myself only to reveal paint bubbling underneath :'( so a rang my mate who is going to carry out the bodywork he said will have to paint all four doors again  put it this way doesn't look like im getting the single mass flywheel and clutch i was planning on lol

Always a risk when you remove glued on side strips. The solvents in the glue react with the paint over time, and cause solvent pop. Live and learn unfortunately.

:( Weird this doesn't happen with de-badging so much though.

stick them back on

Strangeyly I've been considering retro-fitting sidestrips to a car which did not have them as standard, hmm - suppose they're less noticeable on a black car though.

tried this on my car too - the exact same happened! i just bought some more strips and put them back on...

no ive got to finish it off guys getting my mate to paint it, getting front end done anyway because i hate stone chips. Getting a good deal, going to get all car buffed and diamond brited at the same time should be immaculate :smirk:
