New Product Combination

Featured Replies

I think I have finally found my favourite product combination on Skoda paint.

Menzerna Super Finish on Menz Yellow pad. Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection as a sealant. Megs Gold Class Wax as LSP

I find Menz Super Finish can be worked for a long time without drying out. It does leave oils though, so an IPA wipe down is needed to check for knock back. AG EGP very durable. Can be tricky to get an even coverage, but well worth the effort. Megs Gold Class Wax, easy on and easy off when applied over EGP. Used to find it was quite greasy, but not when used over EGP.

So now for the picture, to tell a thousand words.

If you wax over AGEGP, it will be removed by the wax.

Its designed to be a final top coat sealer

Other way round mate. EGP will remove most waxes, but trust me, an 86% carnuba wax won't even touch EGP

EGP first

Wax then emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Wow!

You've just topped my wee list (mob0v's finish with his Clearkote products was the previous top for me) of finishes for this colour.

This photo makes it look like there's tons of colour and less gloss. With every combo i've tried so far i get far too much gloss and not enough colour which 1) undersells this colour and 2) makes it harder to appreciate the body shape.

I'm off to Halfords tomorrow for some EGP  already have the menz kit + DA, need more wax though, hopefully halfords have this one.

You sound like a man who knows his onions :giggle: how long will the finish of the wax typically last (not the protection, i know it lasts months but the finish / appearance i can't get to last more than 2 weeks with Megs #16!), and how often would you top it up?

Many thanks for sharing this. My neighbours have already started commenting i'm nuts doing my car so often but i've just been trying all different product combos to get the perfect finish :giggle: to be honest i'd probably never have gotten round to this combo!

I find Megs Gold Class was is good for about 2 months, and it doesn't seem to sweat oils as much as some waxes.

I've been waxing over EGP and Gloss guard for years and it doesn't come off.

I used the Megs part III on top of EGP and months later there was still beading. That sure as anything wasn't going to be the megs wax.

looks great emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I still use the Clearkote glazes but must admit the PB Natty's Blue on Race Blue works well. Good to hear peeps still remembering my pics lol!
