Instrument lighting

Featured Replies

Just a quick question brought about by a post in the Roomster forum; has the Instrument lighting brightness adjuster been deleted? As I've not seen mention of it in the owners manual.

Not a problem if it has just curious.

TP

There's not one on my pre-FL Roomster.

i've never looked to see if there is one on my pre fl fabia. i'll have a look...

edit: my mark 1 fabia 55 reg had one, i bet they've removed it as part of the cost cutting

I have a Greenline Fab, 59 plate. Skoda tell me there isn't one. Mind, they have bull sugared me before, in the past!

I knew it, there isn't one. I was looking everywhere. The lighting on the volume control of the Dance hu can be dimmed or made brighter though by going throught the menu. Illum 1 and Illum 2

There has never been one on the roomster or fabia2 either pre or post facelift.

Does this lighten/darken the display then? I have only breifly fiddled with mine (ooh-Err, Missus) And noticed one setting makes the light around the volume control dial stay on. I thought this would be due to that being used to switch the unit on/off and adjust volume, hence wanting to be highlited! B)

I think in bright sun light it's difficult to tell which setting it's on, but when its dark enough one setting is brighter than the other. yeah i think it's so that it's easier to see where the on/off button is.

Thanks to all who have responded, much appreciated.

Interesting to note that it's absent from the pre FL also, as I've not really noticed this type of detail (or lack of) having only driven the Fabia II on a couple of occasions as a courtesy car (1.4 & 1.9 TDI).

Does urinate me off though, that manufacturers scrimp on such things that we like and take for granted as end users of their products!

I was sure that in my pre facelift fabia that you could change the dash brightness using the reset button for the trip meter, and another button, check the manual?

I could be talking utter balls of course
