£300 exhaust budget- vRS

Featured Replies

What are my options for a £300 exhaust system to replace my wonky tailpiped, rattly mid section'd exhaust on my vRS?

So far I've narrowed it down to the piper twin tailpie cat back system or saving my £300 and putting up with it for another month or so.....

hi,

firstly your wonky exhaust might just be down to worn exhaust rubbers, cheap to fix!, and as for the exhaust rattling it could be a loose heat sheild, mine was doing this, now in the bin! lol

as for a new system miltek exhausts are very nice, bit more than £300 tho, jetex do a system which looks very oem, afew others to look at could be blueflame, scorpion,

hope this helps

I've had it up on the ramps and it's definitely split away from the bracket causing it to clunk!

Cheapest I've found the Milltek is £315 which isn't too bad. May see if our friends at Awesome will beat the price emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif

Is the Jetex one any good?

new exhaust it is then lol!

ive had afew miltek exhaust in the past and can well recommend them! emoticon-0148-yes.gif ,i hoping to get one for my vrs very soon emoticon-0140-rofl.gif, a few people on here have the jetex but not had much to do with these exhausts

If it is just the cente bracket that is broken it can be re-attached using jubilee clips quite sucessfully.

That will teach me for taking the word of a kwik fit technician emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif

How easy, as it looks as though the exhaust is welded to the bracket?

just reweld it on

it was a common fault on the cars

I had same prob on mine,

all it is is a small spot weld on the center bracket that pops. take it round to a local Mech with a welder and it will cost less than £10, I took mine into some small back street place in cardiff who said it doesnt matter about payment,

Gave him a tenner just for the trouble as it only took 30 seconds really. also the rattle could be a stone stuck in the heat shield, again same prob with mine but by that time Id already booked in for a cat and system lol,

the sound was good enough tho.

Cheers for all the replies. Got the rattle sorted yesterday with a few large jubilee clips and have ordered a piper twin pipe cat back system
