I already have VLC and couldnt make it convert anything.

Just got handbrake but I dont get it. It's asking for something in the destination bar but I dont know what it wants and it wont let me select anything anyway :S

Will have a look and test the process ok!

There is another however-

Thanks, will have a go....

Try FormatFactory 2.30. Its a free download. I use DVDVideoSoft's FreeYouTubeDownload first which does what it says on the box.

2nd for Handbrake. Fantastic little app. Converted over 200 of my DVDs to mp4s with it.

In Handbrake, I open the file I want to convert, and in the destination box, enter the path and file name you want (it defaults to the desktop and the output file is the same as the input file with an m4v extension). Then click start and go make a cup of tea emoticon-0148-yes.gif

At least, that's how it works on my Mac...

Loz- have a look on sites tucows.com and downloads.com for music file converters .Seem to remember I found a lot a while back .

Handbrake here too.

I've got a couple of cameras that record in AVI and can get them to play using 'Windows Media Player' or as said "VLC'

What I would be interested in to convert AVI into a DVD format so I can play on my ordinary DVD player.

VLC is good and it's free.

Downloaded DVDFLICK.NET as suggested by 'YouTube' member, it works ok but does take a heck of a time to convert .asf to DVD format.

Going to try out 'swordstoke' member's suggested site.
