Xcarlink is poo what else can i try

Featured Replies

I have had a xcarlink ipod kit for my skoda fabia vrs le with the standard sympony stereo / speakers

I have had enough of the thing whistling at me when listening to my ipod so i have decided it has to go

I would like to keep my cd changer so i know i cant use a dension one.

is there any other options open to me? i would like to keep my changer and also my standard stereo.

The skoda man said skoda do a kit but he was not sure if it would allow me to keep my cd changer and being special order i could not get a refund if its not what i wanted

help!

thanks dave

Could try an FM transmitter, but not sure of the quality of these having only listened to one in a mates Corsa (Unless the Xcarlink is an FM transmitter in which case ignore me!).

Think some people have managed to splice the CD changer loom together with the Dension kits so that both can be installed at once, but not sure of the details. A search for "dension cd changer" or something should bring up some results.

Alternativly just ditch the CD changer with the view that an iPod holds more than 6 CD's. . .

The Kensington digital transmitters are very good (for the money, and probably the best one available)

However SWMBO has the Xcarlink in her MK5 Golf and it is faultless.

Yeah ditch the changer and put it on ebay.

Get a Parrot MKi9200

That way you get a car kit and something you can play all your music through

PM if you want a deal on one.
