Fabia 1.2 TSI vs Polo 1.4

Featured Replies

Had our 1.2 tsi, 85bhp for just over a week. Our other car is in for warranty work which ran over so dealer lent me a new Polo 1.4 overnight. Can not believe how dated this engine feels in comparison to the tsi. I know a lot of people have said it but it does feel more than 85 bhp. Comparing with 85 bhp polo I think I can see why. The 1.2 has so much more torque low down it is almost like a diesel.

As someone who has spent the last 7 years in a diesel car I have always had to change my driving style when i go back to petrol. Just realised that with the tsi i dont need to.

That's an interesting observation. Glad you like your new car.

The more i drive it the more the tsi feels more and more like a tdi. I like yourself have come from a diesel (had a vrs) and was expecting a major lack of power (i did have a 1.2tsi twingo a while back) but was very impressed. Yeh there is little grunt below 2k but get it over 2000rpm and she flys.

I drove a 1.2 TSI over 400 miles last weekend and was very impressed. More than enough power for overtaking on roads in the Scottish Highlands. I was also very impressed with the internal build quality and general feel of the car. For value, looks and driving enjoyment, my money would be on the Fabia.
