Cheers Mute, I'm thinking of using Castrol Response Super DOT4 which I assume will have better performance than DOT4, no need for the expence of SRF

SRF is excellent stuf but really expensive, i use motul RBF600 and that is alot cheaper and has a v.high wet boiling point compared to others,. i lean on my brakes hard on road and track and its been good for me.

From the answers so far perhaps your question is not very clear

i normally buy two litres or a flush through

I normally buy 2 x 1 litre bottles which usually leaves enough for any topping up in the future

Topping up?!!?

If your brake fluid is going low, there is a reason! Don't just top it up, find out where it's going! :giggle:

2 litres for a flush, seems a lot!

I use the Super ATE blue and gold. They're the same DOT4 (almost good enough to be DOT5.1) but different colours so you can tell when you've hit fresh liquid by using the opposite colour each time. That makes it dead easy to tell when you've flushed it through

Topping up seems common, It's a pain when it comes to pad change time

I also buy 2 litres and usually have half a litre left over but also maybe go over the top to ensure I have flushed all the old stuff out.

The ATE Super blue looks interesting but I have never been able to find it apart from one or two rip-off websites. Switching between blue and gold would make it very easy to see when the old stuff is out. The only slight reservation I have with them is that it is quite viscous iirc and other fluids advertise as being more suitable for cars with ABS systems (eg ATE SL.6). Not sure how much of an issue it would be with blue/gold stuff.

GSF do it, and it's cheaper than most other "performance" brake fluids which is a bonus! (~£9 / litre)
