Corrosion on alloys

Featured Replies

Finally got around to sorting out a slow puncture and was told (and shown ) by the fitter that corrosion aorund the valve hole on the alloy damaged the valve causing the slow puncture.

The fitter said he would not expect to see such corrosion on a car of this age (2006 with 23K on clock)

Anyone else had a similar problem and would it be worthwhile taking it up with dealre/Skoda ???

Yep Ive got same, a slow puncture due to corrosion around valve hole on one or two of mine.

I have just had a wheel replaced under warranty, 2 years 11 months, 26k miles, laquer was lifting between the bolt holes and centre cap.

might be worth an email to Skoda UK.

let us know how you get on.

Had 3 wheels replaced on my Scout due to corrosion, however, it was done under warranty. What happens outside of that, who knows.

UPDATE

Went to our local stealer yesterday to show them my wheels, result 4 new alloys on order to be fitted on 14/7
