Rear wiper arm

Featured Replies

Evening all,

I have a strange problem with my rear wiper on my vRS.

The spring that holds the blade against the window is rubbing against the glass, slowly scoring it. I have taken off the arm to try re-seating it but this hasnt helped.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have an exploded view of the rear wiper so I can check im not missing a spacer or similar? (my wiper construction goes window then sealing gromit, wiper arm, retaining nut, cover.)

Thanks in advance

I'm sure the arm just slides on to the shaft where its lined to add grip, then the bolts screwed on which pushes it against the window.

I'd say your bolt may be too tight? although I thought the plastic cover on the arm would foul before the springed hinge.

its a bit dark now, but if needed i can take a photo of mine tomorrow

edit: actually I have the arm from the polo on mine now, so slightly different... but it still always only fitted by the nut pushing it down!
