iPod help!

Featured Replies

I've got a 20gig ipod, its currently formatted in Mac Format.

I want to be able to connect it to my new work laptop (windows xp) which has firewire (the old one didn't!). I still want to be able to use it on my mac and also on the laptop.

Do I install Macopener on my Laptop and use Ephpod? Or do I use the ipod updater to format it as windows standard - will that erase all the music from it?

You should just be able to plug the iPod in select the drive and format it for windows as easy as that......

However my lady friend has an iPod that I could not get to work in any way on her machine. After several hours of trying and a very fruitless call to their customer service I tried it on another machine. Works perfectly, and another, works perfectly, in fact it works perfectly on 90% of machines and for no reason whatsoever the other 10% wont recognise that the pod is windows formatted.

This seems to be a common problem with iPods judging by their discussion boards and just goes to prove that iPods are a waste of time. Macs and PCs will never mix, and MP3 media sounds **** anyway!!!!!!!!

Rant over - Thank you.
