Dash Light Query: Yellow man with seat belt on

Featured Replies

Hi

Car: 2005 Fabia VRS

I am looking at buying a the above car, although I am wondering about a light on the instrument bincale.

Basically there is a YELLOW light on a the dash that looks like a little man with a seat belt on which doesn't extinguish when I put my seat belt on.

Does anyone know what it is ?

Thanks

There isn't a seatbelt warning on the Fabia, as far as I'm aware, and the childseat de-activate puts a light on above the radio as well as on the dash (on top of looking different!)

Not sure if it means the seatbelt pre-tensioner has fired - a VAG-COM scan would tell you, but I wouldn't pay for it on a car I didn't own...

Thank you for your swift reply.

I haven't seen the car, but the owner described it as above, just under the 120 mph marker ??

Tried googling and searching the forums for an index of Fabia dash lights - but to no avail.

VAGCOM. The best way to a definitive answer.

is it a man with a seat belt on with an circle next to it ( all part of the same icon) if so its the air bag warning check signal, i.e. error in the airbag sys

As above it could be the airbag warning light, which could be a 10 second fix with vag-com or something more serious.

Well despite the owner trying to be evasive, it turns out to be damage repaired car.

Thankyou all for your help
