Anti-hijack locking

Featured Replies

I'm struggling with the anti-hijack door lock setting; i.e. the one which automatically locks the doors when you go above 10mph. Its a FL Scout. I've set "doors - auto close" in the maxi-dot menus. I've not set "auto-open" which I believe automatically unlocks the doors when you remove the keys from the ignition.

This appears to sometimes work, but not allways. I haven't yet worked out when it does and doesn't lock the car. It may only be the first time you exceed 10 mph after starting the car, or it may be if you've only opened the drivers's door and not the passenger door...

On my previous two octavia's pre-FL Octavia II and an Octavia I (both without maxi-dot), the doors re-locked everytime you went above 10mph. Have they changed this on the post-FL models, or am I doing something wrong?

If you have Maxidot, make sure that in Automatic mode both opening and closing are checked. That way, when you go over 10mph the doors lock and when you remove the key they unlock.

Remember to do this for both keys.

Works on my 09 FL Elegance.

The problem I've got is that when I go over 10mph they *sometimes* lock. I've not yet worked out when they do and when they don't... I hadn't realised you had to configure both keys, so will check that!!

I agree with darrenw - you must do this separately with both keys, otherwise it leaves you wondering why it doesn't kick in if you happen to use the 'other' key.

At least part of the problem is solved:

The settings have been made, unmade, and made again for the second key, which now appears to work most of the time.

Unlike the old car, a double-pull on the interior handle of the passenger door unlocks all doors, leading me to believe they hadn't been locked in the first place.
