HDMI, Dead already?

Is cable HD TV (ie Virgin) compressed data?

It does not matter to us, as we still use Coax cables to connect TVs. We even have an old portable one that does not even have a Scart port, it has a RGB and DIN sockets instead (14" Furguson CRT circa 1985).

We only recently got rid of our 1970s NEC because it hardly had any phosphor left. Thinking about it, maybe we should have offered it to the Science and Industry Museum - they seem to love stuff like that! Ah well, long live consumerism... :(

You won't be getting raw HD data over the transmission system.

The encoding process also include error correction stuff too, so I'd be very confident that it's all compressed.
