turbo died ( some help please)

Featured Replies

hi

my turbo blew today, so im going to get a hybrid turbo, i have had a quick search on here but cant realy find anything out.

wondering what turbo i should get and where from, i have jabbaclutch, smf, front mount, 312mm brakes.

was also wondering how to clean all oil out of then front mount please.

cheers dano

What mileage has it done? and is it remapped what happened just for info?

The intercooler could be pressure washed but it must be dried/drained before using again..

Thanks

Turbodynamics stage 2 hybrid is pretty good for a plug & play, but for the best power you want to be fitting a bigger "stock" turbo. :) This tends to cost more though as more work with manifold/pipework, etc. Sounds like you already have a few mods anyway.

57000 mile

was on a bad remap so was over boosting for 5months the boost got turned down when i got all bits on.

well im after about 230ish bhp with a stage 2 map on it, as im limited on funds atm

I would recommend the turbo dynamics turbo, probably stage 2. These are a good turbo and are very drivable, although would recommend a front mount intercooler if you are after that sort of power. For more grunt then, you could add methanol injection, a decat free flowing exhaust system. We can supply and fit these parts and then map the car if you are interested.

Take a look at the turbodynamics website, under skoda or vw specific and the turbos are listed there, can even order it online

is a New Genuine Garrett Turbocharger GT1749V an stage 2??

Seems to be a permissions issue on the images (I'm logged in), either that or it's crashed at my end!

Hope you get it all sorted soon though.

please help as im without a car atm, haha

Get your hands on a broken 150bhp GT1749VB turbo and send it to one of the turbo companies to be made hybrid, they have core issues so im sure you wont be able to buy one outright and if you did it would cost a fortune! Ive done just that, got a turbo with a broken shaft for £65 to my door and sending it to Turbo Technics.

Could swap with mine as all the bits are on?? Im running 240bhp with methanol injection
