Hi Everyone

I've recently taken delivery of my new Yeti and thought I'd say hello.

Whilst I'd been lurking here for some time I hadn't driven a Yeti until last Sunday - June 27th. Sinclair Skoda in Swansea were very friendly and helpful, arranging a testdrive of their new demonstrator which had only just been PDI'd.

In the showroom they had a Muscovado CR170 Elegance with Gobi interior with a few extras - importantly the Rough Road pack and a Spare Wheel, and also a 3-spoke steering wheel, 12-speaker Soundsystem and Silver Roof Rails. The car had been ordered to become the Showroom Manager's personal transport on 1st September - however this was not to be as I took delivery of it on Thursday evening (1st July) - so that's just over 4 days from test drive through placing order to taking delivery - some kind of record?! Just pleased to be in the right place at the right time - I've been told that the manager's replacement vehicle won't even be built until December!

I don't think that this colour combination would have been my first choice, but seeing it in the flesh is quite pleasing - the Muscovado is a nice change from the ubiquitous silver and grey and the Gobi Sand interior works well with the exterior and provides a lightness to the cabin. I also like the contrast with the black dash and carpets.

Whilst posting this I wondered what the collective noun for a group of Yetis is.

The best one that I found of 'real' collective nouns was 'A Shrewdness of Apes' - maybe the Yeti is a type of Ape but this description surely applies to a collection of Yeti owners rather than the Snow Monsters themsleves?

Other internet suggestions are a Brigade, Parliament - or, my favourite - a Flurry of Yetis. Any better ideas?

Anyway - happy to be on board, and looking forward to joining the next Welsh Yeti adventure!

Cheers

Mike

Nice one! In my experience, there is no need for a collective noun for Yetis as I have never seen more than two in one place, and that is a rarity!

Nice car buddy, welcome aboard!

Welcome to the group Shmike. They are fine pics indeed, and excellent news that you now have your very own SM :D

I DOOO like the Gobi interior, but sadly Kitten keeps putting her feet down by wanting the black interior.

HI Shmike,

Welcome to the Yeti clan - great choice - same colour scheme as mine

Hi and Welcome

You'll love the colour combination and car!!

I've had mine for just over a month and I'm still smilling every time I go for a drive :-)

The first idea that springs to mind is 'avalanche' of yetis, pity they are not delivered at this rate!!

Welcome from an exiled Llanelli Turk to a Swansea Jack. Now that does not happen very often!

Four days must be a record - well done. My suggestion - a Drift of Yetis

Hopefully mine arrives this week according to the dealer. Presently de-cluttering the Seat in anticipation.

Enjoy

How about a Mash of Yetis ?

Welcome SHMike. Liking your Yeti - nice colours inside and out. :)

How about a clan of Yetis' as we are rather exclusive

Clan? Is 'Mac' a bit of a give away? :giggle:

Welcome to the wonderful world of Yeti's Mike. Sinclair's seem to be getting a good reputation. Perhaps I shall have to have a trip down to Swansea. At least I would get one with proper registration letters that way.

With all the Welsh Yeti's, perhaps it will have to be a Taffia of Yetis!!

And after the Welsh Adventure around Elan Valley I thought it should be a "dusting of Yetis"

How about a Pride of Yeti?

Very funny Tenzing and well spotted :giggle:

Nope, I'm Macdemon because I use an iMac

The more times I see the Gobi interior, the more I'd wished we had ordered ours with it.

And welcome to the rarified world of Yeti ownership, it's almost like boarding a plane and turning left :giggle:

Welcome to the South Wales Chapter of the SMOC

Hi All

Thanks for the welcome...

@Tenzing - The SM may be a Swansea Jack but I'm from the Valleys - it's just that the locals dealers weren't overly helpful and didn't have the right spec Yeti sat on the showroom floor :)

Maybe the Welsh Chapter of the SMOC should be called the Clobyn Eira (or maybe Clobynbau Eira?)!

Mike,

I'm not sure if our Saesnig brothers would appreciate that, and I expect the Gog's would want something different!

The dealers in Treforest still useless then?

(as an aside, one of my daughter's is called Eira)

I avoided Treforest out of principle after a friend had a bit of a poor time there with some service/repair work on his Kia.

It was the Newport crowd who first of all didn't return phone calls and then seemed completely disinterested when I went in there. That's only a personal experience as they seem to have had some favourable comments on here and I expect I'll try them out for servicing.

PS - It's destiny then - there's no way you can avoid having a Snow Monster when you've named your daughter Eira!

Snow Monsters - snow flakes - Snow Monster's flock? :wonder:
