Hello,

My other half and I have just bought home our new baby - a 2003 Skoda Superb Elegance 1.9 tdi. It is a Category C Insurance write off so we're expecting much fun and games over the next few weeks!

I as a girl have to admit that I know very little about about the workings of these mechanical beasts but am not afraid to ask those who may be in the know... my other half however being a boy will play about with things until they either work or fall off whichever comes first! He has carried out this rebuilding exercise on many cars previously but has usually stuck to BMWs - the Skoda is unchartered territory!

I'm guessing you can now see why I have joined this forum and not he!!

Our first of what maybe many questions in the future is: does this model have either a fuel cut-off relay or fuel inertia switch and if so, where is it located?

I look forward to hearing from anyone who can help.

Cheers,

Jackie x

Errrr wouldn't it be better asking in the skoda Superb 1 section?? Octavia's and Superb are totally different, octavia's were based on the golf chassis and the superb's were based on the passat chassis

I was asked specifically to put it in here so that's what I did - for once I did as I was told! ;)

From my experience wityh cat C cars all I can say is good luck with the SVA test although having bought one I guess you may have experience of such things.

Not sure where you are but the testers down here are a bunch of picky ****'s. They failed my M3 because the tyres fitted, Continentals, original fit & with M3 on the sidewall as they are model specific (kin expensive) are only rated at 149 mph & the car is rated at 155. The nice people at BMW despite being a totalled car wrote a letter explaining things & it passed after I had sorted all the other little nigles, headlight washer hose kinked, cable tie missing etc etc

Cat C NEVER AGAIN
