Octy vRS TDI Tuning options

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I just ordered my vrs estate and was wondering if people have messed around with the tuning on the engine much...

Looking at the power outputs of the engine in other cars, this one seems to be on the high side, so the question is, can you squeeze much more out of it?

Most remaps will take it up to about 200hp and a good increase in the torque too...

The Common Rail engine (as will be in your new VRS) is good for 210bhp and it improves the driveability tremendously - as standard they tend to feel a little lacklustre as the power is so smoothly delivered.

So, I like the sound of this! How does it fit with warranty and the reliability further down the line?

Warranty with modified vehicles is generally a grey area - it is generally accepted that if you have your car remapped then you are waiving your right to any engine related warranty work due to the modification.

It's not always as straight cut as that, and only your dealer will be able to confirm for you. Many dealers are remap and modification friendly nowadays, infact some dealers even remap cars themselves.

A good remap shouldn't affect the reliability of your car at all :)

I can confirm this. Car has felt so much better since Ben has mapped my car. The surge is back. :D
