Bolero TIM

Featured Replies

Would anyone care to explain how to use this in plain English!?

I've read the manual and tried fiddling with the system but can't seem to get it to record anything other than traffic announcements I've already listened to.

Does anyone here use the TIM function and find it useful?

I found the instructions to be usable.

You have to set the time for the recording to be started in the morning, say 1/2 hour before you normally set off to work.

Ditto in the evening , 1/2hr before you set off for home.

Works for me.

I'm with you IanJ i've never managed to have it record an announcement before i get in the car. The manual says it will start recording up to 2 hours before the programmed time. So if i set 9am i'd be expecting to have 2 or 3 announcements (up to the 4min? limit) waiting for me, but no  then i'll be driving along, TP will kick in and TIM will record then, but just not when the car's off.

Definitely good radio reception on my driveway but i could understand if it was only failing in the carpark at work.

Works fine for me. If I have it set for 6am there's normally a report or two when I get in the car at 8... I don't have the manual to hand, but I don't remember it stating it started 2 hours before the time you set...

Just downloaded the manual as I'm too lazy to walk to where I parked the car. It states that it record for 65 minutes from the start time...

For example, when you drive your vehicle to work everyday at a certain time, only

enter the approximate start time. The radio starts with the recording at the set start

time and ends the recording 65 minutes afterwards. In this way, before you begin

your journey, you can retrieve the last traffic reports and tune into the current traffic

situation of the distance to be driven.

Thanks for your help, still took me a couple of re-reads of the post to get it right! First successful recording today, very handy facility.

In plain English - set the TIM timers 2hrs before you are due to set off to hear some recordings!

I forgot about this thread :o mines is working too, thanks for point out my mistake!

tried that but nothing recorded.. however i just realised i didn't have the TP on. i'm guessing i need that too?

Yep the TP needs to be active.

I'm having an issue whereby TP works fine if I turn the radio on, then switch to my SD card, but if I don't switch to the radio then back again I don't get any traffic announcements. It's only been like this since I installed (wedged) the Fiscon behind the head unit, wondering if I've knocked one of the aerial leads out of the back of the unit whilst putting the head unit back in...but then surely TP wouldn't work at all as it'll be like Sky+ in that it needs 2 feeds, right?
