For anybody interested my local ASDA has REDEX diesel cleaner [250ml] on offer for £2.00, When they have these offer's i do not think it apply's to every ASDA store, but worth a look at that price.

NO! it's garbage, spend another £5 and get a proper fuel treatment, it's not good stuff at all, years ago whenever you put it in it would make the car smoke like a para awaiting orders.

I have never had a problem with Redex, A few years ago i had a mk2 Passat with the 1.6 ltr diesel engine[80bhp],slow from the lights, but once up to speed would do it all day,I used Redex in that for the MOT and the best emissions readout i had was 0.7, not bad for what was classed as a dirty engine.

I was under the impression that the only emissions test for an mot was a smoke test, didn't think they actually measured the emissions :wonder:

Edit: Oh I also use Redex and have no trouble with excessive smoke

I have looked up one of my old MOT's and you are right ,it is classed as a smoke test.
