Sound Damping Falls Off

Featured Replies

Skoda Fabia 2 1.4 80 BHP, 2009 (59) reg, approx 5,000 miles from new.

Hi,

a section of sound damping material (a felt like mat) recently dropped from beneath the dash into the driver's footwell. The material was about 700 mm long by 300 mm wide and 20 mm thick.

The damping mat was re-fitted at our local Skoda Dealer last Saturday - in the car park by the Servicing Manager - but fell off again a few days later.

Has anyone else had similar expieriences?

My thoughts are: this could be a safety issue as the mat could become entangled/obstruct the control pedals or the drivers feet, it could be a design fault or poor workmanship, Skoda build quality is not what it used to be, our local service manager should get some training or leave it to the mechanic!

Regards

Graham

This happened to me on a c2 i owned once but on the passenger side. I ended up pushing really hard and it stayed up but no it doesn't sound to good. Get it booked in !!

My passenger side one regularly falls out. I put it back myself and its very badly located, its obvious to anyone that it will always fall out! Needs some clips to hold it properly IMO.
