It pays to remember that the customer is always right, even when they're wrong ;)

No they are not. It pays to remember that it's usually the exact opposite however it's how you deal with makes the difference (For those of you who have worked in technical support on on front line retail you will know what I mean). A skilled operator can turn most situations around regardless of blame. Thats the skill.

In the case of this Ebay ****wit it's a numbers game. The volume is that high a few bad exeriances despite what is wrong make no difference as the sheep will keep buying these. They are obviously fake at a tenth of the cost of real ones but people keep going for them.....

Gotta love people.

Ofc theyre not always right, but for a business to keep them happy you need to empathise with them, exactly as you said. It's a crappy horrible saying, but looks like this dude needs to get back to basics lol.

Lockage required, I agree :p

I've bought some badges off jaystuff, great service and fast delivery. i thought the quality was good enough. nothing to complain about.

ok, you say why have a make me an offer option, but on the other hand, the seller has the right to refuse any offer.

I would buy again off this seller.

as i said...99% feedback on 1900 item is not worthy of critisism..if you think it is your deluded.

postage on ebay is always way over the top...anyone who deals on ebay knows this..ive bought hundreds of items where postage has cost half what was stated...thats ebay

and was it really worth haggling over 50p?

Hi all, I'm sure that all of us have probably suffered this one time or another The logo was scratched clean on my key.

I decided to replace it with one of the domed resin type, you may have seen them on ebay but if not here's the item.

In the interest of commerce and barter ;) I decided to make an offer as per the facility with this item.

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...E:B:BOC:GB:1123

My (reasonable I think...) offer to the buyer...

Dear grr666,

You've made a Best Offer on the following item:

3d domed keyring keyfob badge for VRS 14mm SKODA

Buy It Now price:£1.00

Your offer price:£0.75

Your terms: Hi there can you do 2no @ 75p each and single postage charge @ £1 Total to pay £2.50??

If so then we have a deal.

Offer expires:18-Jul-10 00:22:16 BST

The reply....

Dear grr666,

Your offer has been declined on the following eBay item:

3d domed keyring keyfob badge for VRS 14mm SKODAYour offer price:£1.50 (2 x £0.75)

Seller terms: if ur worring over 50p then u cant afford them and ive refused ur offer to save you worring over the 50p thanks

BIN price:£1.00

Check and see if you can make another Best Offer

Sadly this is copied and pasted directly from the email... Schools clearly aren't getting the job done :dull:

I was quite annoyed by the tone of his response, so replied as follows...

Dear jaystuff2009,

Thank you so much for your appraisal of my financial status however inaccurate it may be.

I'm rather glad you refused my offer actually, as your refusal clearly demonstrates that you

are an illiterate little berk, and I prefer not to do business with those.

Why have the item on "make me an offer" in the first place, if all you do is refuse a genuine

offer and have the downright cheek to tell me what I can and can't afford.

I think I'll order the genuine type elsewhere. And, while I'm at it how does it cost a

pound to post something 14mm across that weighs less than a gram?

But, I was prepared to suffer that if you did a decent deal.

Never mind, you live and learn.

Thank you.

After sending him my reply I checked his negative feedback and wasn't surprised to see many others

have had similar experience with the chap. He flogs a load of knock off vehicle logo items on ebay,

Many with vRs logos on so I urge you to boycott this seller and stick to reliable people like our very

own Pastyboy when you need this type of product.

Whos knock off comment? You mean yours? :S :giggle:

knock off in my eyes is stolen goods..

Anyone who types in "text speak" on a forum is a Chav. That is a commonly accepted character trait.

I'm glad you managed to pull the dictionary out of your rear end and form a few meaningful sentences. Good to know our tax payer's money is not being totally wasted.

In all seriousness please use a spell checker next time.

Well done for having the balls to come on here and defend your attitude. Being a small business owner myself I have some empathy with the sometimes unreasonable requests and requirements from seemingly brain dead customers who seem to have no clue whatsoever about anything.

However...

You are not doing yourself any favours whatsoever by proving the point. All your post's do is show how bad your attitude actually is. If you really have to resort to the kind of communication that would be expected from a twelve year old then perhaps a business where you have to deal with people is not for you. I run my own business dealing with ebayers and sure you get asked some dumb questions from people who blatently have expectations out of scope but there is no reason to get defensive and start calling people names, that just shows how insecure you are about your product.

I also deal with people face to face and get the same thing sometimes but always try to maintain a professional outlook as people talk. When I mean they talk, I mean that one bad experiance will get you about 10 people who find out about it and won't deal with you. When your trying to make a living out of something you don't want that. Do you show the same attitude with people face to face? Probably not...

If your going to come on here and add some fuel to the fire by all means but all you will do is loose customers. One minute it's here, the next it's spread to other forums (I have found at least 4 other threads going on other forums all saying the same things about your poor attitude....) and beyond. Next thing you know your volume is gone and your moron to paying customer ration goes up. What will happen then?

Like you say, why bother wasting your time bothering with morons?

Quote reproduced post which has since been deleted.

All this when you could have gone to Pasty and got a much better response!!!

This whole thread is why I set auto-reject / auto accept levels on anything I put on there. Saves me getting personally involved.

And if I do end up having to click reject myself I won't bother making any snide remarks. Life is too short for that and I for one, do not wish to come across a total t**t over anything like Ebay.

Now on briskoda I don't mind coming across that way at all! ;)

Isn't this funny,

The Grrmeister has decided to vent his anger at someone's pettiness, and the person in question happens to be a member on the site too.

To add insult, after personally attacking someone in the private of Ebay, then comes onto a public forum to back grrr666's theory up of he is just on the internet to reject honest offers and have less customer service skills than my gut/ass after a good curry.

I can comment like this as i have had just a good experience with this 'person'.

I for love of god hope he does not work with members of the public.

this is such a shame he is a member on here.......... i was hoping i would not have to 'bump into' him again.

Do you think it's a coincidence he suddenly reappears on here with 12 posts in nearly 2.5 years?

The internet is smaller than you think and it doesn't take much for a word to do the rounds.

This is the reason i dont have the same handle everywhere ;)

Is it just me who would feel embarrased argueing over 50p? And lets be honest here his written english may not be perfect, but if all you critics were as bright as you think you are you wouldn't be driving skodas would you?

..if all you critics were as bright as you think you are you wouldn't be driving skodas would you?

Thats right, we'd be driving mk2 golfs :rofl:B)

Oh dear lord no. My neighbours would think they gypsys had moved in!

I park the Skoda in front of the Saab too because if the Saab breaks down it isn't stuck in the way....

It would seem our abusive little friend has gone through this thread deleting his posts

so as not to damage his business further.

So, he comes on here, makes wildly abusive remarks to variety of different members,

Then obviously doesn't even have the backbone to stand by his ( Poorly judged) comments.

I'm glad that in the end he came on here to prove me right :p

Let's hope this thread springs to peoples minds if they should ever see

his name next to a product on ebay in future.

Then they can return to searched items and keep looking :D

This person doesn't really deserve your business.

As for my key problem, I'll be sending Cliff a pm soon with an order for him if he can do these. :)

My last word on this topic is mostly for the likes of Warwick Hunt who has been quite a contributor

to this thread and a couple of others.

Why are you all hung up on the 50p thing??? My gripe with this character has always

been ( See post 1.... Where I said....."I was quite annoyed by the tone of his response" )

about his very obvious attitude problem. It was never about the fact he turned my offer down.

It was about how he did it.

And what a treat it was for us all to meet him....

In short....... NO SALE!!!

:giggle: bye bye :sun:

You are sooooo not doing yourself and favors mate!

Good job the Emoticons don't work in the sig. because that just explains you all over................

sigh indeed. :dull:

The thing is... all this could have been avoided if when you were asked the question "Hi there can you do 2no @ 75p each and single postage charge @ £1 Total to pay £2.50??

If so then we have a deal." (by grr666) - you replied with something simple (and more professional) like:

"Sorry no deal"

That was all that was needed. Saying "you cant afford this and that" etc is just uncalled for really and obviously is going to **** people off.

Sure he made a pretty tight offer for ya but all you had to say was "no"
