****ing got hit again

Featured Replies

Not sure if you remember but I got hit a month or so ago down the N/S

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/165540-front-rear-ns-doors/page__p__2021387entry2021387

today near my boss's house I get back to the car I see some ***** of a ****ing **** has scraped my rear bumper. Have a long scrape in the middle and loads on the corner.

**** knows how they done that as there is a wall one side. must of hit reversed and hit again or must of did it in one go and not realised.

Cant beleive this as I go out of my way not to open doors on cars. Put my hand over the door edge etc.

Looks like the bills gone from £500-£700 to £600-£800 for a second hand bumper.

From a slightly angry Stephen

EDIT - anyone nearish to london have a Silver vRS bumper for sale?

Unlucky mate - hope you get it sorted fast and cheap/free.

Had some complete wrist exerciser reverse into my rear quarter in his sh*tty work van today while I was parked in a bay at work!

Little scrubber drove off as well, luckily the lads who work next door at the bike shop saw it and I managed to get his details from the company he was just delivering to.

Sucks ass buddy, and the likelihood of me getting him to pay for repairs are remote!

Any witnesses? If so you got the ****er.

Yeh, got a witness. Going to write a nice letter to the company he was delivering for tomorrow, fingers crossed.

make sure you include in the letter he failed to stop, a decent company would disipline their drivers for that, was it a national firm or a smaller courier firm?

+ its a crime - failing to stop after an accident. Although he could say he didn't realise he hit you, which he probably will :(

Private plumbing firm, witness said he denied hitting the car after he shouted at him to stop, then he drove off.

so he has been informed he collided with something and then still left the scene, go to the police

Do not wait, go to the Police, you will need the REG number and a witness cut and dried

Do NOT contact him to settle without authorities involved

He WAS quite happy to hit and run you, and left YOU to pay

If you get the work done on your insurance, then yes the work is done for free ONLY insurance companies are not insurance companies

they are high rate loan companies, they pay for the repair, and it is treated as a loan, then charge you at 500% over FIVE YEARS

I was of the understanding that you took fully comp insurance, so when you had an accident they paid out

I did NOT understand that, you pay in the pot for twenty years, then when you need to pull out of the pot, they lend you the money for the repair

and take it back five fold over the next five years

It is much cheaper to take third party only and take a loan out to repair your own car or even buy a new car

I have been the nice guy and been bitten, ONCE bitten TWICE shy

I was hit and run claimed repair £300 and have paid £1500 back, You can not even change insurance companies as you have to declare a claim and they all load the policy accordingly

Report it

National

I'd look at doing so sooner rather than later. My parents had one of their cars hit whilst they were away, and were told about it by a neighbour when they returned a couple of days later (complete with the idiot's plate number). When they tried to report it to the police, they were told they would also be charged with failing to report an accident resulting in damage or injury within 24 hours (even though that would not have been possible) ...

I too got reversed into by a skip lorry last week denting the tailgate but luckily i was leaving work after he had just done it so he told me,Lucky for me 1 week later it's in the garage being repaired for £995 the bad news is ive got to drive a toyota yaris :|
