My Fabia is debadging itself!

Featured Replies

Gave the Fabia a good wash today, and while doing so the rear number 2 badge just fell off! Never had that happen before, maybe its just too small to be able to withstand soapy water etc. Its only stuck on with double sided anyway. I actually think it looks a bit better without the 2, less cluttered!

On another point, Ive never owned a car that has been so prone to stonechips... the paint is dreadfully soft and theres at least 20 on the bonnet after 13,000 miles which is pretty pants.

What colour is the car?

Ours has no chips since March (White)

Satin Grey, the light metallic blue in other words :giggle: Ive got them on the bumper, doors wings. It really picks them up easily.

same here, the number on the corner of the FABIA badge has come off. at one point it was hanging on by a single strand of glue.

to solve the little chips you could try a touch up paint stick.

Lemon, when I collected my new fabia level 2 finished in Satin Grey (18 months old now), she didn't have the number two applied to the boot. This is apparently something the dealers have to fit so I was told and they usually leave it off for the owner to put on or leave off as required. You used to find the 'no 2' in the glove box in the handbook folder. The service manager said they all thought they looked better without them. But I actually put mine on and it stuck ok. I put it on because I like everything to be as it should be, original etc. But that's just me. I'm the same with my motorcycles...everything has to be original right down to the warning stickers on the frames etc.

I think the stone chips thing is just normal and over the years I've found it depends on several factor as to how many you collect. Driving style being one of them...speed you drive at, fast, slow, a bit too close to the guy in front, what sort of roads you mainly spend your time on, urban, country, motorway dual carriageway etc. However, I can say that after 18 months I actually have had just one stone chip to the bumper and a small one at that. It's nicely touched in now and cannot be seen. Picked up two windscreen dings though.

what i'd like to do is remove the 'htp' badge and put it on the front grille just like the mark 1 vrs badge on the front grille. it seems very 'glued' on.
