Rear Suspension Noises

Featured Replies

I picked up my 2006 Octavia Vrs last week and I am over the moon with it!

Granted I have not even had more than an hours driving time in it due to being away this weekend, however during the drive home from a dealer and taking it on some of the more country roads in my area I can hear some faint noises that I was hoping some of the Skoda Veterans here could shed some light on.

The first sound coming from the rear when the suspension is being worked is a light knocking noise, almost like to light objects just coming into contact. The second noise is more of a hiss when the suspension is worked, both of these noises are not severe noises and the car feels OK. I'm just a bit worried about them and what they could be caused by, especially only picking up the car at the end of last week!

Any Ideas?

I'm experiencing the the same type of noise in the rear suspension.I've had all the rubber silent-block bushes lubricated, but the noise persists.I suspect the noise may be coming from the rear top mounts.I've also had the exhaust hangers checked.

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Greek, Thanks for that link. I will look into this one later tonight.

Im starting to get more concerned regarding the hissing noise, i think the problem is i am thinking about it too much!

Can anyone with an Octavia Vrs (2006 onwards) comment on the hissing noise? I still have a lot of fault finding around the car to do but i would just like a general idea of what could cause a hiss is suspension (it might be normal for this type of suspension).

I sometimes get a noise like the exhaust is dragging sound, but cannot find anything loose and its all been checked

I'd bet that the hissing noise is due to noisy valves in the shocks.
