Can anyone please tell me how to make an oil/filter change on an Octavia L & K TDI 2006? Haynes Manuals only cover models up to 2004. I am reluctant to spend money on a manual that may not be adequate to my needs. Also, when replying, can you please tell me where the oil filter is? I cannot see one from a top overview, unless it will be visible when I remove the bottom tray to access the sump. I have not raised the car on the ramps yet. Thanks

You can get at from the top.

After removing engine cover have a look at the front of the engine and center right.

You should see a black plastic cap on a silver metal cylinder. The black plastic cap has a 32mm nut (still plastic) on the top of it.

Undo the cap and inside is the oil filter. Once you remove the filter the oil will drop into the sump

Its a bit tight but you can get through to it if you move a few of the sensors out of the way.

Its EXACTLY the same as on a B6 passat so if you want more info have a look on vwaudiforum.co.uk

PS. This is for a diesel version - for petrol you need to get underneath to get access to the filter
