Leather Seat Care

Featured Replies

For you folks who have leather seats, what products do you use to keep them clean and what do you recommend ??

:)

Gliptone - the best! Applied with (clean) bare hand/fingers.

I've used it for ten years now on leather seats in my cars; applied six monthly. Smells beautiful too.

Even used it on my leather arm chair in the house.

The Octavia Scout I've ordered is coming with Alcantara upholstery which appears to be a combination of real leather and this Alcantara fabric. How would you care for this combination type? I'm guessing they would need to be treated quite differently.

IIRC the alcantara upholstery consists of 0% leather, and is a faux leather/alcantara combo.

You're on the right track but this is the cleaner that is really only necessary for really old & grubby leather.

If you have a car from new, a wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove any 'dirt' (vacuum dust off first) and then use the Gliptone Conditioner, which is a cream.

I bought a bottle recently from these guys;- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gliptone-GT11-Car-Seat-Liquid-Leather-Conditioner-250ml-/400047193965?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d24abbf6d first rate service.

^^Thats why I mentioned the conditioner and the cleaner good for getting rid of any dirt marks etc which i have all ready used and it worked well,Just get both.

I don't think so. No doubt the sides and rear faces of the seats are faux leather, but the squabs are Alcantara and the side bolsters/headrest face are leather.

i.e. the wear parts are in alcantara or leather.
