Honestjohnn take on ESP

Featured Replies

Mmmm no mention of Skoda their. I'll believe it when a few people manage to get the repair out of warranty. Also what about the poor sods that have had to pay already ?

My dad's 07 reg Seat Altea had it's ESP failure come up last week - 3 months out of warranty (do they come out of the factory with a countdown timer fitted? This ESP will self destruct in 39 months!)

With a full Dealer service history Seat have agreed to cover the full cost of it's replacement - so perhaps this is a new VAG-wide policy?

Here's hoping.

And as above anybody in a similar situation that has had to pay should be talking quite loudly to their dealer.

Are they still replacing them? Mazda have the same problem and they are starting to offer a repair for a few hundred pounds instead of the full £1500 for replacement.

Curious. Maybe it IS a VAG change of heart! - Here's hoping
