Haldex operation and a big puddle!

Featured Replies

Hi All,

With all this heavy rain today one of the main roads near me cant drain away the water fast enough so great pools form spreading out from the gutter.

In the past I have driven through this in front wheel drive cars.

Each time the nearside wheels hit a big puddle the car always pulls slightly but distinctively to the left (towards the puddle) as you would expect.

Doing the same thing in the Yeti 4x4 is interesting, there is a very slight pull to the kerb which is immediately compensated for by a feeling of being pushed from the rear so the cars steers nice and straight.

Is this the Haldex kicking in on the nearside rear wheel or is some other compensation going on.

This is my first 4x4 so it’s all new to me.

:)

Yep, that's the Haldex kicking in.

Blooming quick isn't it?
