Suspension recomendations

Featured Replies

Looking for any recomendations for replacement shocks and springs for my PD140 Elegance.

Its starting to get a little tired now, with approx 92K on the clock. They're not leaking, so no desperate rush, just feeling very sloppy now as I've

been used to hot hatches in the past.....

I'm thinking about:

- Coilovers (V-Maxx) due to the reasonable part costs. Concerned about the ride quality however.

- Eibachs with Koni FSD. Perhaps too expensive for my car, due to its value. Concerned about longlevity.

- Standard OEM..... Cost ?

I'm basically looking for an option that'll be good not the next 50-60k without having to change them again.

Looking to replace shocks and springs, since the car is sitting lower at one side than the other.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I just sold my OEM vrs suspension (shocks and springs) with virtually delivery miles for £200.. that would have been ideal for you - in fact it was a guy with an L&K in a simlar position to you who bought them in the end.

In your position I would wait for someone upgrading a new-ish vrs, then snap up whatever they are taking off for peanuts.

I currently have koni's with eibach springs. I dont like the konis and will replace them next week with weitecs.

I've had "cheap" coilovers in the past and would suggest you avoid them (not commenting specifically on any of your choices above as I dont have direct experience of that brand - its just a general statement).

AP coilovers get good reviews on here. I chose weitecs as they are only a little more expensive and have very good reviews as far as i can see from people who's opinions i would rate. Both AP and Weitec are made by KW who have an excellent reputation.

If you're not interested in lowering, maybe bilstein b4 (OE spec) shocks with some new OE springs?
