How to connect my iPod in a 55 plate Fabia

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone give me any advice on how to connect my ipod touch to my stereo in my 55 plate Fabia (skoda symphony stereo). I don't want to use an FM transmitter (tried a couple but not that happy with the results). I know that my stereo can take a CD changer and believe that it's possible to connect something up to use an aux input.

I've seen some people have used Connects2 which can charge and control the first playlists but don't feel it's worth the money for what you get and the limited control over only 6 playlists.

Any suggestions of the easiest way and what equipment I would need to connect my ipod touch (I'm not worried about being able to control playlists or charge the ipod).

Thanks,

Ian

Why not consider replacing the head-unit with an aftermarket one, like a Kenwood or a Sony, that comes with a USB/AUX input some even have an SD card input. I have a Kenwood one, that has both. And with the current deal Halfords got going you could pick one up fairly cheap.

You can set mine to be controlled through the unit (however thats a bit annoying to use while driving) and you can also control it directly through the iPod. Check this Mutant MP3 Head Unit out, pretty reasonable price IMO.

I'm unsure whether you want to keep it as standard or go aftermarket, hope I've helped.

David

EDIT: that ones even got bluetooth phone connectivity for hands-free :)
