Hi All

Had the Combi just over a month - 1000 miles or so now and have had two occasions where there is an obvious whiring noise at the front end of the car. The engine is running and the noise increases with increased revs and speed (even from take off).

The first time it happened it also gave out a brief potent smell, similar to clutch burn (it has a manual box). Any ideas? It's been back to the dealer and shows no diagnostic faults and the performance doesn't appear to be affected.

DPF regeneration possibly and quiet normal if you do a lot of short runs.
