Radiator Fans Issue

Featured Replies

I have noticed that every time my car is started regardless if the engine is hot or cold one of the radiator fans is running the whole time, the gauge sits right in the middle (90c),

I was wondering what could be causeing this issue? Rad thermoswitch? engine coolant sensor?

Any advice appreciated

Paul

Have you got your air-con engaged? iirc one is for engine cooling and the other runs when the air-con is working.

Well i had a check tonight the fan comes on regardless if the AC is on or not, could anyone shed some light on this issue please?

Thanks

Paul

Switch built into the rad that controls when the fan comes on has probably gone up the creek

Ok mate thanks, do you know what they are called and how much from the dealer? is it an easy fix?

Paul

Sorry it's not something I've changed on mine. I've got a feeling it's screwed into the side or one of the corners of the radiator. If you phone a dealer and give them your reg they should be able to find the part for you. Wouldn't have thought it is more than about £20, that's how much the main coolant temp sensor is.
