PD car stalling in forward gears

Featured Replies

Morning folks,

currently sitting waiting for RAC to arrive :'(

I have a 2004 pd octavia which has died for the second time in a week, symptoms are car starts ok but when reving is a bit hesitant. Then it dies when driving forward.

However you can reverse ok !!?

It did this last week and I got a lift to work, then when I went back for the car 5 hours later it was fine !

Anyone got any ideas ??

cheers

morning,

Latest is that it looks like the crank sensor is dieing

Garage reckons that the gearbox needs to come out to change the sensor, can anyone confirm thats right ??

Seems a bad design if thats the case !

thanks in advance...
