Bonnet Bra

Featured Replies

Anyone got one?

Desperate to see what one looks like on a Fabia, and how it works with the grill being joined onto the bonnet!

Any pics?

Be aware they cause more damage than they prevent. Constant rubbing action dulls the paint.

If you're worried about stone chips just don't drive the car. Bonnet bra my ar5e :wonder:

What a pointless piece of equipment. Make your car look like this...?

It is on the same lines as this

Giggady!

Giggady!

LOL. Anyway, these bra things look horrendous, though something similar is popular with our Septic friends over the pond.

If you want paint protection, you'd be better off looking at some 3M Paint Protection Film, which is transparent and will look infinitely better, though it'll be a fair bit more expensive I imagine, and you'd want it applied by someone who knows what they're doing.

Giggady!

ive used them on my vw's SAVED my paint work but only used it on long motorway journeys.

go for it it cost a lot of money for a paint job

I had one on my polo, they are ugly as **** but they do the job. Ive had the front end of my fabia resprayed about 1500 miles ago and the front end it just as bad as when it went in, the amount of stone chips is stupud. A bonnet bra would have stopped them.

One word answer:

Two word answer:

PLEASE DON'T

The picture above isnt really a bonnet bra is it? Closer to a car cover maybe? lol, there was a listing on ebay for just a bonnet one, looked ok, i`d have one for motorway trips, but not keep it on all the time, serves a purpose, doesnt add to the looks tho imo.

matt

They just look awful....

Maybe the clear paint protection film is the way forward although

I can see that it's only really beneficial on brand new paintwork.

Surely, in winter when you would be most likely to use a bonnet bra

with all that grit and goo being chucked up. Some of it's going to get between the

gimp mask and the paintwork. It must flap a bit too at 70mph+ and the whole time

rubbing that gritty gunge directly into the finish.

Best avoided I reckon.

love bra's on cars !! had one on my clio loved it !! right pain in the arse tho !! had to take it off every day when i got to work as it was very dusty and it would have rubbed the paint really bad !! also think they look REALLY bad on the fabia tho only suit a few cars !!
