Was a bad day for my vRS.....

Featured Replies

BUT I did pass my Tesco assessment in band 1. So I can drive at any Tesco depot.

Now for the really bad bit, left home all was fine and got to Newport to go in to the agency and after returnin to the car I noticed the passenger side milotec grill had "fallen out". Didn't notice it when I left the car but it was nowhere to be seen. Also for the first time I have scraped the LCR splitter.

I am well gutted as it was a stunning front end but I think now I will remove the splitter(easy) and somehow remove the milotec grill rests.

There is a few probs tho,

1: the backing spacers for the grills are bonded.

2: I don't really want to damage the bumper.

3: I only have today really as I need it sorting for the weekend as I should be working.

Anyone got any tips on removing them?

Cheers

Billy

Sorry no tips Billy,

but comiserations mate, I know how you feel, just after I got my vrs we went to Longleat, driving slowly across to another part of carpark down a short steep ramp

I heard the front scrape as we went down (orrible sound), thought "ohhh bu**er".

I can't help, but I do know how you feel. I lost a piece of my Milotec wheel arch extension last year on the way down to Gaydon :'(

Well I managed to get them off, its not bonded on lol,

Cheers fellas, I will deff be gettin another one as she looks too std now lol, I dont mind the std grills tho.

I have a center and drivers side milotec grill if anyone want/needs them. only need to either collec or pay postage.

I got the clips off by using a hairdryer lol, then they peeled right off.

I will get round to renewing my Freedom as and when I get the funds. so the grills are free. I hope thats not a breach of rules?

I spose I could of left the splitter as it wasnt that bad, but the slightest bit of damage really buggs me. Ill be gettin another if this new work with Tesco goes well.

Sorry to hear your little incident there mate. I know how you feel, as just when my front end was looking great I took out the front splitter big time on a grass verge that was a lot higher and harder than i first thought. New one on there now.

I had to change a milotec grill once and remember that the bumper is actually very strong and the plastic spacer gave way reasonably ok.

Spare a thought for me buddy, as been under the car for approx 7 hours changing the rear bushes. What a job that was. will post some pics on the original thread when i get time.

I might have them off you if your changing Billy. not sure how they would fit a standard 4x4 bumper though? PM me :D

I came out of work on Tuesday and someone had nicked one of my Milotec B pillar covers :swear:

Contacted RSD who told me they no longer make them :(

i've just had a phone call from the wife whoose had my car 24 hours to say she's ripped my lcr splitter off :wonder:
