Fabia VRS Alarm

Featured Replies

Hello

For some reason I cannot post this in ask a technician so someone maybe able to help me.

I have a Fabia VRS 55 plate I have had it for three years - thought it had an alarm when I bought it from main dealer (dealer now not there), then thought it didn't and thought no more of it, then today a lady in my office said that my alarm was going off - went to the car park no alarm going off?

How can I check to see if there is one I have already tried the following:

Opening the door with the key not the fob

Getting in the car, getting a friend to lock me in and walk away with the key and then trying moving about in it, trying to get out (this didnt work and she had to let me out)

There is an immobiliser and I do have a flashing red light by the door unlock thing that flashes.

Its really bugging me now

Thanks

You have an alarm. When you lock the doors with the remote fob, a second press of the lock button can disable the alarm sounders.

Click once, it's all u need. Maybe have a friendly local VAG-COM owner enable the alarm chirp for you so you know whwn it's locked and unlocked?

Thanks for this - is there anyway I can make it go off so I can check (not that I don't believe you - more for my own piece of mind) - without braking the window lol

Sorry also thicko here - what is a VAG-COM

lock a friend in and press the lock button once, and see if it goes off then. I've set mine off plenty of times with people inside! I like to embarass people though, haha!!

I do have an alarm! Just locked it pressed button ONCE! Then got my very helpful friend at work to rock the car lots - and the alarm went off! I am amazed had it three years and never heard the alarm before! You learn something new every day!

Thank you so much !

VAG-COM is a bit of diagnostic software that can be used to alter some preferences with your car, alalrm chirp on lock/unlock, anti-hijack etc, etc.

Just make sure you only press the button once in future ;)

Be glad of this as it means your car has never been broken into.

Although that said when mine was broken into the alarm didn't go off! :'(

Well fingers crossed it doesn't get broken into! Now I just have to remember to press the button only once! I should have known this as hubby as an Octavia VRS and when I go out in that I only press it once to lock!

I blame it on the peroxide!

Thanks one and all!

Wind one front window down - - - shut all doors - - stand outside car - - - press remote 'lock' button once - - -lean through open window and open door using inside door handle - - - ALARM should sound - -press 'unlock' button on remote to cancel alarm.

Ensure to press remote button only once to lock!! if pressed twice alarm will not sound !!emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Hello to all and thanks for being so welcoming to me and answering my bit of a blonde question.#

Just to fill you in - I have a Fabia vRS (55 reg - but with Pvt plate) - in black magic - I've had him just over 3 years - and yes he is a he and he is called Freddie (a very girly thing I know) - I don't confess to being a petrol head but absolutely love my Furby, we are a two Skoda family with hubby having the Octavia vRS (57 plate)

And again thanks for helping me with my alarm situation x
