SWMBO noticed it while she was in there. And suggested that I go have a look. After she'd vacated the room, before you all start. :giggle:

Wetas aren't noted for their speediness :)

Though they can jump a couple of metres when they want to!

If I saw that anywhere near me I'd have an absolute fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :'(

Though it is the biggest found in the NZ mainland.

I tell you what - after looking at that I aint no-way going to New Zealand!

I had enough of stuff like that in Sri Lanka where I had close encounters with massive cockroaches and big spiders on the loo!

You just bloody well had to do it didn’t you!!! Why not a baby Kiwi :(

It's very rare to see weta.

And NZ is awesome - everyone should visit.

Sorry!

How's this to cheer you up?

I love Wetas but you could of at least taken a photo of a medium or large size one.

When I was a kid we used to quite often find them inside peoples wooden letterboxes. It was often nice and damp in there with an assortment of dead bugs and spiders.

My mrs would runa mile if she saw that.
