New PC Time!

Featured Replies

Finally, I've been allowed to order a new PC.

Gone this for bundle:

http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/Barebones/Novatech/BB-6354G.html

Adding a 1TB Samsung drive, a 500GB Samsung drive, memory card reader, LG DVD writer... That's all that money permits at the min.

Later will be adding a proper graphics card....

Should be here a week on Monday. It'll be so nice to have a stable system!!

Not bad at all for the money that

I doubt you could build one for that price.

My only concern is that it doesn't state the MOBO manufacturer. I'm going to assume is a Foxconn...

silly question as i dont know much about pcs but what would you do about software after that then, isnt it expensive?

im looking to upgrade my pc and that sounds like a good bundle to get but im not sure about how to get windows onto it

I have a copy of Windows 7 64bit Ultimate that'll go onto it. Other software I already have installers/discs for.

ah i see, fair do's then ill have to check to see if i have some discs in the box still and move all the programs over

Not too bad at all by the looks.

Think you might be right about it being a foxconn mobo.

Did a quick google of the motherboard number and there was a few foxconn results coming up.

Phil

I've bought a few bundles from novatech and they have all been foxconn boards.

Never had a problem with one yet

This is the first barebones I bought from them. I've bought odds and sods from them, and think I even bought a system from them back in the late 90's (when they were still mail order!).

I might have a bit of a fiddle with overclocking, Apparently this processor can make 3.5!

Very good.

I havn't had an AMD Processor since my first Duron 800 so no idea what the current ones are like. They get some good reviews and I'm sure it will be more than adequate for you.

You just really NEED a proper graphics card. Would be fun trying to run some of todays latest games on that one! hehe

Phil

when buying a bare bones kit like that how do you know what graphic card will fit ?

It's an ATX case so they all will, well they all should :)

PCI-E socket for graphics, almost all are this now.

Physically, it's a big case so pretty much anything will go.
