Probably been said before but.....I know it is each to their own but so many cars look the same and why are all manufacturers making mpv like cars?peugot 307, golf, astra Focus(new one looks like backward step) They all look the same. Are we all getting taller?Do they all secretly share the same designer?Lets see something interesting :D

Isn't a lot of it to do with complying with euroNCAP? I know that even the classic boxy styling of the Land Rover/Range Rover will need to be changed to comply with the pedestrian-impact tests.........

Yep, all to do with making it safer to wander drinkenly across the M1. There needs to be a certain amount of space between the bonnet and the engine.

l am not saying l like the latest Renault design,, BUT,,, at least they try to be a little differant

EuroNcap, fashion, and the same CAD systems. Plus the designers generally did similar degrees, so they have the same influences. Plus, they always show new designs to panels of members of the public, who will always be influenced by what's on the street, and won't like anything different.

That still doesn't expalin the Porsche Cayenne, though......

I do.

They make the roofs higher to increase the internal space to make it seem more airy and boast about how much more class leading boot space they have.

I like the new megane, in fact i like the avantime as well, the laguna too. Renault definitely needed to do something different, their previous megane looked atrocious i reckon. The new Focus is definitely a step backwards, not so 'New Edge' now! I don't like the way car manufacturers go for the same company 'face' for their range of models, they all just end up looking like elongated/ squashed versions of one another, I like to see more variation in models, less bland and sterile...

its true any new car now you can look at a say... ' from this angle it looks like an 'X' '

like the octy i think it looks like a volvo!

Strange, my car is small, new and a load shorter than any new car ;)
