Which USB VAG-COM 16 pin cable/CD 2010 Octy 2 Scout

Featured Replies

I am thinking of getting a VAG-COM USB cable/cd to allow me to connect my laptop , but I notice some of them say" Not Octavia 1Z" . Does this mean the chassis type, because I have a chassis number starts with 1Z.

Also I assume the CD would allow enable or change some functions as maxidot does.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Bob Wilson

They say "not Octavia 1Z" probably because they are shonky rip-offs of the proper hardware and software, which do not have full support for newer systems as found in the Octavia, Golf, A3 and Leon amongst many others. It does indeed mean chassis type.

The only place to buy VCDS legally is through Ross-tech themselves, or through an official Ross-tech supplier. The link posted by the previous poster was a link to another shonky illegal cable. The software activation license is in the cable, and as such any product not directly from Ross-Tech or an official distributor is illegal.
