All of us would have been able to guess correctly what that car was!!!

Great news!

Congratulations Skoda.

Reinforced what us Skoda Yeti affectionados know already. Well done Skoda for manufacturing such a fine engineering masterpiece.

Just imagine all the orders and interest Skoda will be getting now?! New owners: expect to take delivery in 2012!!! Good luck.

Though once Roomster production moves I imagine production can be ramped up significantly.

Well deserved! emoticon-0148-yes.gif Makes me feel that I know a bit about cars too having chosen it as my ride. emoticon-0103-cool.gifemoticon-0178-rock.gif

I got the mag today , Not only did the Yeti win COTY 2010 , but it also was voted best Crossover. The Superb won best family car , the Superb Estate won Best Estate , and Skoda won the Driver Power award also. , not bad!!

Ok, ok, ok... i'm very happy for Skoda. But my SM at only 16900 km has already a broken injector...

Not even remotely surprised. I was blown away by my test drive, practicality, quality, quirky good looks and enjoyable to drive - a real have your cake and eat it car. Roll on October!

I haven't yet seen another SM on the road this year, so kind of enjoying the exclusivity of the beast in my part of the world. My dealer had only sold 3 other cars between my order in April and collection in July. Does this mean the world and his wife will soon have one :-)

I hope that means I wont have to pay more for my beast when it arrives lol !!

:D

yebbut - will VW be so magnanimous??!!

'Tis indeed great, overall, news - Yeti and Skoda both.

And doesnt she look cute with her white coat on too ??

:D

Well I knew I was buying the BEST, that just proves it!!

You are thinking of the European Car Of The Year where such masterpieces as the Peugeot 307 has won in the past, the cars in this contest are all new cars that are on sale in the UK today.

thats good news for us and skoda :smirk: ....i love my beast B)

Fiat Uno was a fantastic car.

Good news indeed!

The Fiat Uno wasn't a bad car. I had the 1.3 70bhp version. Doesn't sound much now but the car was light and would top 100mph. Not too bad for 1984. i would give most cars a run for their money, Carp dealers though.

Imagine how I feel with both the 2008 and 2010 Auto Express COTY in the drive! B)

It's a funny old world. It seemed to be a while ago that if AE pits, say a Golf against an Octavia or Yeti or Superb, you could guarantee that the Golf would win. It seems to me that now their photographer has had a Superb and one of their roadtesters has had a Scout, Skodas now seem very popular again and can do no wrong. Or are we all getting tight and don't want to pay over the odds for a VW with a Skoda badge on ?

Fiat Uno was a fantastic car.

Not on salt covered winter roads in the UK!

The bodywork could dissolve whilst you watched.

I seem to recall that the body design for the Uno was a 'reject' by Nissan for the first Micra. It was a neat looking car but not suited to our climate.

Don't think it won anything from Autoexpress as they came into existance after the Uno had been replaced by the 'Full Stop', sorry, Punto.
