Yeti most economical SUV/4x4

Featured Replies

Which? magazine has chosen the Skoda Yeti as the MPG hero in the 4x4/SUV category. As well as carrying out the EU urban and extra-urban cycles, they test vehicles from a cold start, with A/C on and off and for 15.5 miles at motorway speeds. A formula is applied to all the tests to give an overall average. They claim this figure is more representative of what an average owner is likely achieve than the official figures.

Most economical was the Skoda Yeti 2.0 TDI (140) SE which achieved 42.9 mpg, second was the BMW X1 xDrive 20d SE Auto which did 42.4 mpg and third was the Skoda Yeti 1.2 TSI SE which did 41.4 mpg.

On average I am doing better than 42.9 mpg on long journeys and on most "urban" runs. 47-49 is normal for my fairly regular trip to Manchester

my 1.2 is averaging 50's everyday...today it was at 61 mpg!!!...im sure this is down to the new 11 model software B)

If we drive slowly and carefully we can all get spectacular figures.

What I believe matters is the overall average over several months.

Just completed 6000 miles in mine and the average comes out at

42.9

So Which mpg figures are pretty spot on in my opinion.

:)
