i saw dinbilpartner og autoselect after i had ordered my car.

if i`d ordered it that way i would save 30 000 nkr. if i ordered with dsg there and not from dealer.

i wrote a mail to magne and said it was not that good that they said.

then he was really quick on the phone to me.

he is a really nice guy and easy to talk to.

Congratulations! Keep your camera ready when it arrives and throw a couple of pictures online here

Received the following news from our dealer this afternoon.

After waiting now 13 weeks from order our car should arrive at their show room next week. If this holds then the lead time on our car will have been shorten by 2 weeks.

Looking good so far...emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Got an e-mail from Skoda today. My car will be produced on Monday Sep 13th

From my last post two weeks ago our dealer mentioned that our car was due into their showroom week 35 (last week). Having not heard anything from them I checked up yesterday morning and was given the sad news that our car had not arrived and they had no idea as to when it would. emoticon-0106-crying.gifemoticon-0106-crying.gifemoticon-0106-crying.gif

They promised though to chase up on things and get back to us as soon as they had any news. What to do?

Strange that they do not even know where our car is apart from it being in the country. emoticon-0114-dull.gif

Late this morning though I received the following updated information:

"Your car arrived yesterday evening. We will get it ready today and Mr Cap will pick it up tomorrow morning. If everything falls into place we should be able make delivery on Friday afternoon."

("Din bil kom till oss igår kväll! Mina killar gör i ordning bilen idag och Mr Cap hämtar bilen imorgon förmiddag. Om allt går i hamn så skulle vi kunna ha leverans på fredag eftermiddag.") emoticon-0100-smile.gifemoticon-0100-smile.gifemoticon-0100-smile.gif

Let´s now hope that nothing unexpected happens and everything does fall into place.

On Friday it will be exactly 15 weeks since we placed our order.

...Just received an E-mail (17:30) asking us to come at 16:30 on Friday. Mr Cap has picked the car up so things look like they are now on schedule. emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

My order went in on March 23th and now my dealer told me, that the car has been finally put together.

It will still take some 3-4 weeks before I can get my hands on it.

The car is a Amethyst Purple Superb Estate Elegance 1.8 DSG (that is Finnish Elegance with electric tailgate, Bolero with Sound System, parking assistant, variable boot floor, net programme, retractable parcel self, heated front and rear seats, mechanical sunblinds) plus panoramic sunroof, theft alarm, auxiliary petrol heater (Webasto) with remote control and KESSY.

Cheers,

Loota

I like the car that you have put together Loota. We too have ordered the Amethyst Purple but you really have had to wait a long time for delivery. I guess it must be due to the panoramic sunroof from what I can understand from reading other post on Briskoda. Hope it will be three rather that four weeks to wait emoticon-0100-smile.gif

Wow that is a whopping 7 months wait! :o

Well worth it though:-)

Got a mail from our dealer in Norway today.

He states that our build week will be week 40 and that delivery wil probably coincide with the coming of father christmas 2010

This is for the 1.6 CR estate with panoroof. This means that the factory that produces this engine has started production. (was due to open september 2010)

We ordered ours the first week of august.

A short update here. This previous information was incorrect and I have not received my car yet. The overall ordering history for my car is:

- Order placed 15th April 2010 (wk 15)

- Preliminary production week was confirmed on 26th April and it was supposed to be wk 20. At the time it was said that it takes about 3 weeks after that when the car is in Finland.

- On week 19 I asked the confirmation for the production week and on week 20 (18th May) it was confirmed by the dealer that the production week is 20.

- On 5th June (wk 22) I asked from the dealer if the car is ready for the delivery and I was informed (7th June) this time by phone that the production week will be sometimes in August.

- I asked 12th June and 6th July by email what is the confirmed manufacturing week for my car. I got a response on 6th July where it was confirmed to be week 33.

- On week 33 Thursday (19th Aug) and on week 34 (25th Aug) I asked where is my car and I got an email confirmation on 26th Aug that the car is already in Harbor in Finland (this was incorrect info)

- My dealer was on holiday on week 33 and therefore I visited the dealer premises on Friday 20th Aug. There were no explanation were the car is but my new register plate number was confirmed (it means that someone had to know the chassis number of my car for registering the car).

- On 7th Sep I asked if the car is ready for delivery and I got response that it is not even in Finland yet !!! There were no comment for my natural question how is this possible because it was confirmed by email in previous sentence that it is in Finland already.

- Next I asked about the delivery on 14th Sep and 16th Sep and it was confirmed by email that the car is in Ship already (Tue 21st Sep)

- On Friday 24th Sep I asked if my car has arrived (The Tuesday ship from Lübeck, Germany is on Thursday morning 7AM in Hanko harbor and the ship was there on time based on port of Hanko web pages) and there were no response for this.

- Today 29th Sep I asked about my car again and I got response by phone that the car has arrived to Hanko harbor, BUT there is a transportation damage on side window and the new window has been ordered from the factory. This will take 1 to 2 weeks extra time and there is no possibilities to get the car out of the harbor before that (Hanko harbor is only 100 km from where I live) and it must be fixed by the import company there in harbor.

I have not ordered anything special. My order is Superb Combi 1.8 DSG Ambition, Mocca brown, towing bar, side airbags, MDI, undershield (or how to call that bad road package), anti-theft system, etc. NO sun roof or KESSY or navigation, etc.

I really need a new car and therefore I have not canceled my order. During this waiting time the car price has also raised up 3 k€. Luckily I have to not pay that extra. I wonder if the dealer offers me something extras for my car for free because of this waiting time. Let's see. Otherwise this was my last Skoda ever.

Btw. How could I check from the chassis number that what has been the actual manufacturing week for my car?

Seems to me that the Dealer not Skoda is the problem here - can't believe that Skoda has given out all this duff information.

Graham

Yes I agree partly. The facts I know are that preliminary manufacturing week was given by factory to be wk 20 and it was shown to dealer. The actual manufacturing week was updated by the factory sometimes between wk 21 to 23 into system. I have seen the both confirmations by myself when visited the retailer and saw their IT system confirmations. Rest of the communication has came from the dealer based on his experience and understanding of the delivery situation. The cars ordered in February this year were delivered within two months to customers in Finland and now the situation is a bit worse.

The main problem here is in my mind that the factory nor the importer does not have a proper track and trace system in place so that I could follow my order online. Now I must rely on dealers information of the order situation and in most of the cases he only knows a preliminary manufacturing week, actual confirmed manufacturing week, the chassis number (which confirms that the car is manufactured), and of couse the delivery date from the harbor to dealer (this is still missing with my order). Even when there is bad communication done by the dealer I personally think that the root cause for all of this is a bad logistics management by Skoda.

For me, I did order my new car 25/9 and have, in reality, no hope for delivery until start-mid February, father Christmas will be extreeeeemely late... ;-)

The DSG choice is one thing that pushes the date forward, if my dealer is correct. That leaves me with a lot of time choosing my tires for the winter then...

Time will tell.

I waited my car for exactly 6 months. It was ordered on March 23th and did not have a production week assigned until late August (week 35) and then everything was going quite fast. and the car was delivered 3 weeks after actual production.

My dealer just told me each month, that there is still no production week assigned. There may be a preliminary production week, but he told me, that the final production week is assigned about two weeks beforehand. He had access to Skoda's system, where

the status can be seen clearly.

But I just waited, and the dealer updated the status each month. In the original agreement the last delivery date was June 30th. And there was nothing we could do about the delay here in Finland.

This is actually not a new thing for me, because I have waited for a new car 6-7 months before (Mercedes).

Tommi, your delivery time will probably be the same 6 months, but part of that delay is not production related, so they did manage to make your car faster than mine :)

Cheers,

Loota

Yes, I know that 6 months is typical waiting time at the moment in Finland. I still think it is not acceptable even when someone else has experienced the same.

Despite the waiting time, I'm very frustrated with this delay (my car was originally promised for midsummer) because I'm loosing actual money here. First of all there were this 1 % increase for the VAT and the bigger thing was that I have not been able to sell my old car before the new car arrives. Best time to sell it would have been June just because of the consumer habits with used summer cars here in Finland. One reason for promising the delivery time for 3 months or less in Finland might be the new standard that says the proper delivery time with new cars are 3 months or less. If the seller cannot achieve that the consumer is allowed to get some compensation of the delay. Loota, did you get any compensation because of this delivery time?

Dealer called today and told me he had got an "build confirmation" and that it will be produced towards the end of the month (octoober, 10') and delivered medio November. Ordered mid-july.

Kessey+Sunroof (and other some other extras. I Mention it because it has been speculated that these were some of the delaying factors) ...

Contacted my dealer today and according to him our car had been produced but had not left the factory yet. Originally we got build week 40 (this week) so it looks like things are speeding up a bit. Of course no indication of the time when the car is schedueled to be transported to Norway. This could be everything from a week to 2 months, according to posts here on this forum.

Specs underneath my nametag.

My dealer called me today and confirmed that the car is now on dealer's premises and the actual delivery will be on this week Friday. Overall the process took 25 wks and 2 days. The compensation was not yet agreed.
